I wish to recognize Wingate Healthcare as one of the outstanding skilled nursing homes available to our post-cardiac surgery patients here at the BWH (Brigham and Women's Hospital.) Time and time again, my patients and their families have commented on the excellent and compassionate care provided to them at Wingate following discharge from the acute hospital setting. The healthcare professionals, the administrative staff, and all who work for the Wingate system have but one goal in mind; to make rehabilitation of patients as productive, rapid, and comfortable as possible. I will continue to encourage my patients and their families to obtain their post-hospital care at Wingate Healthcare.

Recently I was in your skilled nursing home for about six weeks. This was my first experience of ever being in rehab. I want to tell you that the care that I received was excellent. You have the most caring, informative and efficient staff. The food was delicious and my overall stay was fine. I would definitely recommend Wingate at Silver Lake to other people, and if I have to stay in rehab again, I would return to your facility. Thanks for all your help and making me feel like I was at home.

The staff at Wingate makes me feel like I am important. If there is something I want, they bend over backwards to get it for me. My comfort seems to be the top priority. When they take care of me, they always explain what they are doing. All of the employees are always on time, clean and have positive attitudes. I love Wingate; I don’t want to go home!

There is a mounting body of scientific data that indicates that a combination of regular physical exercise, a brain-healthy diet, disciplined cognitive training, meaningful social engagement, dietary supplementation, and certain medications, together, can significantly slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease and minimize its symptoms. Putting all of these elements within a therapeutically designed, supportive environment that maximizes independence and a program of care that emphasizes positive emotions in the individual is where Assisted Living facilities could be in the future. Wingate's Pickford Place at The Inn at Silver Lake in Kingston is already there. They have gone far beyond the industry norm of good custodial care and developed a unique product of therapeutic care.
