At Wingate Healthcare, we offer residents who have an upcoming surgery the opportunity to pre-book their rehab stay. Prior to an elective surgery, prospective rehab candidates can tour any of our 19 skilled nursing homes, including our state-of-the-art Gym at Wingate locations, meet our physical therapy staff, and ask questions about their planned stays. Knowing what to expect during inpatient rehab helps answer questions and reduce concerns that arise after being discharged from the hospital.
Once residents select Wingate as their choice for rehabilitation, the Hospital Case Manager secures a room reservation and takes any special requests for accommodations that will make their stay most comfortable. Cable television, wireless Internet, and placement in our renovated post acute care unit, Pavilion Suites, are just some of the many features we offer. Requests are granted whenever possible.
A day or two prior to surgery, the facility’s Admissions Director contacts the rehab resident to confirm the expected arrival day and to coordinate a visit by our Clinical Liaison. Also prior to surgery, residents can drop off luggage at the skilled nursing home so their belongings are available upon their arrival to rehab.
