Recently I was in your skilled nursing home for about six weeks. This was my first experience of ever being in rehab. I want to tell you that the care that I received was excellent. You have the most caring, informative and efficient staff. The food was delicious and my overall stay was fine. I would definitely recommend Wingate at Silver Lake to other people, and if I have to stay in rehab again, I would return to your facility. Thanks for all your help and making me feel like I was at home.

Wingate staff, thank you for all of your kindness during my mom’s stay. I am sure I must have seemed rather lost or at least that’s how I felt before I stopped into Wingate. You were so kind and so informative. I was very impressed with all aspects of your facility. Sure, it is a beautiful place physically, but what mattered to me was how it felt. I loved how the residents interacted with the caregivers and with each other. I also loved how there were opportunities for residents to socialize and that it was encouraged but not forced. The therapy departments seemed so geared to enabling someone to once again live independently.
I spoke with my mom by phone last night and she sounded wonderful, which I must say surprised me. Getting her meds under control and her body chemistry more in balance has made a huge difference! Between my visit with your staff, talking to my mom, and actually getting some sleep last night, I feel that everything will work out…it just takes time. Many thanks!

People never know just how far-reaching their acts may be, yet there are those who show random acts of kindness in all sorts of ways just because they are caring individuals. We want you to know how truly wonderful your Wingate at Silver Lake staff is and how well they cared for our father, as well as cared for us.
When dad first arrived, everyone was so helpful getting him settled into his room and answering any and all questions we had. Christine White was cheerful and showed genuine interest in dad and in us. When we had to leave on vacation at the end of the week, we were given reassurance that dad would be well cared for and that we could call at any time to check on his progress. It gave us much peace of mind. When we returned, we were greeted with smiles and friendly comments from the floor nurses, aides and staff. We knew dad was in a good place.
Mary King was the nurse assigned to dad, and she was up front with us about his condition, yet she was gentle in her conversation with us. She kept us informed of what we could expect and signs to look for in the natural process that was taking place. She was ever so gentle in her dealing with dad. Her sweet voice and tender hand made dad comfortable and rid of fear. We were amazed and grateful all at the same time. We were there late each night and were never made to feel as though we had to leave. We arrived early the following mornings and were greeted with big smiles and reports of dad’s night. During our stays, food trays were brought to us, and the Wingate staff often checked on our well-being. The staff entered about every two hours to change dad’s position in order to keep him comfortable. They were so kind and attentive.
Perhaps this is what happens with everyone, but we’ve never experienced anything like this before, and we wanted you to know how it was for us and how it has impacted us. We feel so blessed that dad was in the care of these remarkable individuals and that we have known them and have experienced their acts of kindness, as well. We can speak only words of praise and thankfulness.

The day my family was told my mom required more care than you could provide at your assisted living facility, we were taken on a tour of your skilled nursing home facility. Wingate had a bed available and her PCP, Dr. Northrop, could continue caring for her so it seemed to be a good fit. I could not be happier with the care my mother was given and the support my family received. I especially want to praise Pam, her Case Manager, Donna, Michelle Roy, and a new employee who was on duty that afternoon (I think her name was Marissa.)
On my first encounter with Pam, she listened to what I had to say about the care I wanted for my mother. Later that week, we had a family meeting with Pam and Michelle. They could not have been more supportive to my family. Thanks to them, my mother was given wonderful care and was allowed to live with dignity and peace. This special time will never be forgotten. Wingate Healthcare, you have some wonderful staff members that deserve to be commended for the quality of care they provide.
