Highland (Ulster) Testimonials

To my friend Dana Agular: Just a quick note to let you know all is well. I am walking with a cane now, and all the doctors say I must have been in a great place to make a comeback like this! Don’t be surprised if I show up to say “hi”!

Our loved one was at Wingate at Ulster for most of the past year and a half. We have been so thankful for the excellent healthcare and comfort she was given while there. We cannot praise all the staff enough; they do an outstanding job. It has been comforting to be involved with Wingate. May God bless each of you with his richest blessing and help you to continue to do the good work you do.

Due to the kindness and caring of Wingate’s staff, both in short term rehab and now, in long term care, I feel that my mom is in very safe and capable care. I can finally sleep knowing she is in a warm, compassionate and caring environment.

I knew from the first day of her admission that Wingate at Ulster was the right place. I felt it the moment I came in the front entrance. Thank you all again for helping us adjust to a very difficult decision.

My uncle has been a resident at Wingate at Ulster for over 10 years. During this time, he has been treated with kindness and compassion by a skilled nursing team who demonstrates respect at all times.

Although he has difficulty expressing his needs, the staff seems to be able to understand and accommodate him. The staff is prompt in returning my calls whenever I have concerns. They always keep me informed of any issues. I can call the nurses on any shift to check on my uncle and they know who he is and how he is. Do you realize how comforting it is to know that he is cared for during all shifts? He is not just a room number or a bed number to Wingate; he is a person.

I consider the staff my extended family. They care for my uncle as they would care for a family member of their own. Wingate, I thank you for that. I would have four pages of names if I listed everyone who has helped, but an extra big thanks to Delores. Your welcoming, respectful attitude towards your residents and their visitors is demonstrated by your staff as well. Thank you, also, for the care provided for my aunt when she was a resident.

Wingate staff members certainly gave generously of their time in helping my sister, her friend, and I. I don’t know how we would have gotten through the month at Wingate without their help during those difficult days.

Thank you to the entire staff at the Ulster facility for all the time, attention, and care you have extended to my mother. Her stay there has been a comfort to both her and her family. We would not have been able to maintain this level of care you have given her. Our experience here at Wingate at Ulster has been exceptional, and we would recommend, without hesitation, your facility to anyone. Thank you again for your outstanding care; it is truly appreciated.

Thank you to the Wingate aids that took such kind care of our mother. Every time we visited for the past four years, you kept us up-to-date on her condition and progress. You were always accommodating of our families’ odd-timed visits. Her grandson was even allowed to stay overnight with her, which I’m sure was a great comfort to her. Our thanks again!

After mom’s stroke, she needed 24-hour nursing care. After eight months of trying to give her quality of life at our home, we made the decision to make her new residence Wingate at Ulster. We were now going to be able to manage our careers, raise our 7-year-old daughter and care for our loving mother - all with the help of Wingate.

From day one, your staff made her feel like she was at an extension of our home. She remained a resident at Wingate at Ulster for nine years. Every week we would visit her, and on holidays we would take her home to have dinners with us.

Delores Richardson and the nursing staff helped out tremendously with our mother’s care. Crystal Byrne, Kim Rodriguez, Joe Marsico and the many other nurses over the years need to be mentioned as well. On our visits, their caring, smiling faces made us feel confident in the care that mom was receiving. Anything we asked for was attended to immediately. The nursing assistants also cared for mom as though she was their own relative. The hard work and dedication was evident in their care. Lastly, the Front Desk employees, especially Carole Booth, made our visits so warm and loving.

The compassion of the Wingate staff was very touching. Wingate gave our mother her freedom to interact with loving, caring friends and staff while affording my husband and me our work-life balances.

We cannot thank the staff enough for their many years of service to our mother. We will always have a fond memory of Wingate at Ulster.
