I was at Wingate again tonight to visit my grandmother. Gladys Leggett, when you passed the door, smiled, and called out hello to me as you always do, I immediately felt at ease because you would be the one caring for my Gram.
I hope you feel the gratitude of me, my grandmother and the rest of our family for all you do and the caring, gentle and kind way in which you do it. I see how hard you work, how many different needs you are trying to meet, all the “bells” going off at once, and how our elderly folks can be difficult to please at times. With that said I’ve never seen you frazzled, impatient or frustrated with a resident. You have a gift of truly understanding this population. You treat them with dignity, respect, kindness and compassion at all times.
Many people can do what you do, but it takes a very special person to do what you do the way that you do it- with a genuine caring, concern and love for your residents, making every effort to ensure that they have the highest quality of life. You’ve touched the lives of my Gram and our family. Thank you for being you and for the excellent healthcare that you give. You are very much appreciated today and every day.
