Steve Tyer has been the Chief Operating Officer of Wingate Healthcare since 2004. Prior to that, he was the administrator of various skilled nursing homes in Massachusetts. He is a licensed nursing home administrator in Massachusetts and has been involved in the healthcare industry since 1986.
Mr. Tyer, a past member of the Patient Care Committee of the Alzheimer's Association, has guest lectured at Stonehill College in the Department of Healthcare Administration and has spoken nationally on the design of dementia care facilities. He assisted in the development of freestanding dementia specific facilities, including the first one in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and numerous distinct units. Mr. Tyer also co-authored a chapter of the Eastern Massachusetts Alzheimer's Association's Profession Caregivers Handbook and is a current member of the Board of Directors of Goddard Health Services.
