With over 20 years of proven human resource successes in healthcare and financial services, Elissa O'Brien currently directs Human Resources at Wingate Healthcare. Throughout her human resource career, she has developed and executed strategies that reduced costs, strengthened operations by developing human capital, and ensured compliance that minimize litigation. Mrs. O'Brien has extensive experience in employee and labor relations, organizational development, and the creation of strategic initiatives that ensure the efficient use of human capital.
She currently serves as a member of the Special Expertise Panel on Labor Relations for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). In the past, she has served as State Director for the Rhode Island State Council of SHRM and President of the Human Resources Management Association of Rhode Island. Mrs. O'Brien has also testified before the U.S. Department of Labor and was an invited speaker at Georgetown University on the Family and Medical Leave Act. She has more recently testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education and Labor Subcommittee on Children and Families.
